"How did you know?"
She asked the question knowing damned well how he knew.
He knew because her other self, Louisa, the brave one, had told him.
"How do you think I know?" He looked at her and almost laughed. Almost.
He started to walk away, but she grabbed his arm.
"Don't." Her voice was breathless.
He paused for a second, then turned towards her. Tears in his eyes.
"I loved you."
She bowed her head as it shook slowly from side to side.
"No," she whispered. "You didn't."
She turned her face upward and now it was her with tear-swelled eyes.
"You loved her."
He reached for her like she remembered him doing before.
Not gentle and soft, afraid to hurt her, but fast and rough like he used to.
Only now out of anger instead of passion.
T'Ady didn't like to be touched that way.
The way her uncle used to touch her.
T'Ady looked into his eyes and didn't know the man who gripped her.
Didn't want to know him.
Only wanted him dead.

I haven't written a song in a long time. This is the one I wrote tonight....

Simply Don't Know

Lately I’ve
Got so much in my head.
Thinking ‘bout life

Sometimes I ignore
